Duties of the Communications Division
Dispatchers are responsible for maintaining communications between the Sheriff's Office and the public, as well as officers in the field and other public safety agencies. The communications center is a fully computerized environment at a 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP).
Dispatchers must: perform multiple tasks simultaneously, establishing priorities as needed; determine and coordinate initial responses to calls and assign necessary personnel; monitor radios, telephones, and various computer systems; monitor cameras and other key points of the department; fulfill general administrative duties include typing, filing, and processing warrants; perform other duties as assigned.
